College of the Desert - West Valley Campus

The College of the Desert West Valley Campus Master Plan is designed as a self-sustaining campus with a net positive impact on energy use, carbon emissions, water, and waste. The 119 acre site in the Coachella Valley is planned to house 650,000 sqft of developed classroom and support facilities. 60 acres of the site is leased to Southern California Edison for a PV farm large enough to make the development net positive on energy use and carbon emissions. Southern California Edison and HGA architects worked together with the district on the master plan to develop a campus that has a positive impact on its surroundings in alignment with the College of the Desert’s educational pillars.
