The SCP targets individual commercial buildings striving to achieve zero net energy and multi-building or community scale projects able to commit to aggressive energy efficiency goals. Certification to a recognized green building rating system (e.g. LEED-ND ®) is strongly encouraged.
Customized technical assistance to support new commercial buildings in achieving ZNE may include:
- Design Charrettes and Team Integration
- Bioclimatic Analysis
- Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Modeling and Daylighting Analysis
- On-site Renewable Energy Feasibility Analysis
- Energy Benchmarking and Modeling
- Cost Assessments for certain design features or strategies
Customized technical assistance for the design of sustainable, energy efficient communities may include:
- Design Charrettes and Team Integration
- Project-Specific Green Building SupportInfrastructure Planning and Support
- Specific Plan and Environmental Impact Analysis Support
- Solar Orientation and Bioclimatic Analysis
- Energy Benchmarking and Modeling
- InnovativeDistributed Energy System Design Assistance
- Energy Resource Planning
- Commissioning Plans and Specifications
- Education and Training
- LEED® Specifications and Documentation Support
- Coordination with other incentive programs
Who is Eligible?
Owners and developers of new construction projects striving to achieve siginificant levels of energy efficiency and possibly zero net energy, and owners and developers of mixed-use, multi-building new construction projects or master planned communities that commit to the program performance goals are considered for the pilot. Once operational, projects must purchase their electric service from SCE and be on a rate that pays into the Public Goods Charge Fund.
SCE has the final determination on eligibility and encourages projects that are committed to integrating a broad spectrum of both traditional and non-traditional energy saving measures to apply. Projects not selected for the pilot are directed to other SCE programs.
